The Red Garter is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has a rich history as one of the most colorful Houses on what was known as "Saloon Row". A tour of the building and as much of the local history that you'd care to hear about is, of course, part of the fun in staying here.
Along with a parlor and eight cribs for the "soiled doves", the second floor once boasted a two-story outhouse off the back of the building for the cowboys and other guests. These days each of the four guestrooms has a private, en suite bathroom .
The smaller 'Parlor', where the "girls" used to wait for the cowboys, has skylights, an east facing window overlooking the patio area and a queen bed.
All of the rooms have individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fan, hair dryer, alarm clock radio, satellite cable TV and WI FI internet access. The common pantry has a refrigerator with complementary cold drinks, ice machine and fresh brewed coffee.
The interior room with original skylights is the 'Madam's Room’, a large room with an antique brass bed from a brothel in New Orleans.
